The movie wont fast forward
Going through all the recent post, Im glad Im not the only one not pleased with the update. Guess well just wait for the update to fix the update. Until then my review will stay at a 1 star.
Very disappointed that both my on demand and the alternative - this app - are not functioning. Id like a 50% discount since half my service isnt available!
I love this company and the app its amazing. I can watch all my shows on the go. Never had a problem with DIRECTV and they have great deals. ?????
I enjoy this app it gives you up-to-date shows. You dont have to wait the year to watch the new season. However on a lot of the shows they dont show all the past seasons. So like Netflix you can watch season one to the final season. But it is nice if I missed an episode of something that Im currently watching. Just like every app there is a few glitches Im sure over time they will be taken care of
Update - one year later, it just keeps getting worse. If this app is any indication of AT&Ts merge, I think we all might switch back to cable. I know Im considering it, after 12 years. The app was good before AT&T merged and changed it. Now it is unusable. It is over complicated and almost impossible to navigate on the phone, freezing constantly. Its been a year with no improvement. I cant use it to schedule programs, I cant use it to view programming. Theyre trying to put too much into the app I guess because it WAS great before AT&T redesigned it. Now its useless.
I like the DIRECTV app however at times it does seem hard to navigate. I am still learning.

It displays a brief "logging in..." then goes to the black screen with the DirectTV logo, and then it goes no farther. I reinstalled today and it does the same.
Just got DIRECTV and the app. So far so good! A month later and after updating to 10.3.1 I cannot open the app. Need help! I use to like the app.
Awesome app works perfect does not use your data take tv anywhere and you can use your phone as a remote it truly is the future of tv
What a cluster****! Slowest, most disorganized, illogical, buggy, frustrating app Ive ever used. It so bad its as if it was intentionally designed to be the worst. DIRECTV designers-try the spectrum app: Loads in seconds, not minutes; change channels in seconds with a swipe and touch; opens directly to your last channel when brought from background; responsive, easy to use guide; the list goes on... My experience away from home has been better than at home. At home, I get network errors on some channels but not others during same session while its obvious from other devices online doing things unrelated to dtv. Unlike dtv, spectrums app is easy to use, logically designed, responsive and useful. Only drawback to spectrums app is it requires a spectrum cable acct and limits what you can watch away from home. Its so much better than dtv, Id pay a monthly fee to be able to use their app w/o a cable acct.
All I get is a black screen now. I have deleted it, re downloaded it and reset the iPhone and still the same black screen. Fix asap
When the app works, it is great, enabling me to watch my shows on the go, waiting for kids or doing cardio at the gym. I love my DirecTV, but the app, not so much. In my experience, right in the middle of a show, it will just freeze, and then you have to close out and reopen and begin the whole process again to get back to your show. Also, it is finicky if you dont have wi-if, as on my iPad I do not have cellular data, but luckily I am able to use my hotspot on my phone to hook up if I need to. Sometimes I am able to open the app and watch my shows with no issues at all, but then it will tell me I have no downloaded shows, when indeed I do, so I have to close out, and reopen, and a lot of times, to start a show, I will have to hook to the wi-fi. On an airplane, when this happens I have to go to my Netflix shows I have saved and downloaded. Luckily there I have no issues, but not all of my shows are on Netflix. Hulu will be my next stop! Come on Directv!! Get it together! May have to try Xfinity.
I am having no trouble with my old iPad mini one of the earliest versions, but my brand new iPhone 7plus and iPad 2017 both give the business excuse and go into a "thinking/sitting" mode and wont do anything but just say DIRECTV across the screen. I see that others had the same problems when I search online and the only answer is to delete and resubmit. Did that multiple times now and nothing doing. Frustrated because I would think the newer ones would be doing much better!! Works great though on my mini

Since update app wont work on my iPhone. Goes to logging in screen then goes blank screen with DIRECTV on top. App works fine on my IPad Pro
