Update again.. latest update still the same. Very frustrating!!*With the latest update, I am still unable to login.*I have a credit to use to rent a movie. But required to stream first. So I try to log in, incorrect password. Fixed that. Now it does the "logging in" thing and returns back to what is was before I hit login.
Listened to the hype about taking direct TV with you. Big disappointment no channels worked.
needs to play on Apple TV. "AirPlay Mirroring" is the least I could be asking for... Dish app has tons more child friendly On Demand and I could control my audio (receiver), not jus channels; Directv app needs this feature as well. It DESPERATELY needs an update to bring up the "Receiver" quicker, instead of waiting a whole day for it to load the receiver remote. please add audio options on remote whenever you (Directv) fix Remote. needs a lot of work!

I have had no end of trouble with this app! First I couldnt log in and then you log in and see the Direct Tv logo and thats it. You cant go any farther. This app is frustrating because it only works like 5% of the time!
We download shows to watch while flying. With no internet connection, no wifi, airplane mode on, when we click watch to watch the episode, it just goes back to the playlist. I finally figured out that if we initially have an internet connection, then it plays fine. We can turn off the internet once a show has started playing Very frustrating and needs fixed. Also, this app is so slow and drains battery so much. How does watching a video cause so much drain? No other app does that.
It freezes every time you try to log in. Totally unusable. Only further solidifies my opinion that AT&T is the worst company on Earth.

Wont even load enough to get to a sign in sheet. I get the direct tv logo and thats it.
I just downloaded this app and after it prompts me to login it goes completely black with just the directTV logo...

I think Direct TVs App covers most needed uses for most folks. I particularly find the structured functionality and all the information which it provides. I think its about the best programming outlet that could be envisaged, especially making available on different devices all of the best entertainment .
Have had the app for about 6 months. When it works (about 25% of time) its great. The app continually shuts down and kicks you out while using. I have been successful streaming live shows at times but I havent been able to stream recorded shows from my DVR at all on my phone or tablet. I have registered my phone and tablet while on the same wifi network correctly, thats why it works occasionally for me. And when I called "support" they basically told me they didnt know why its not working and offered me Six months of a sport package free for the trouble. Thats great, but if I cant stream It on My phone or tablet whats the use Of having the free sports package. So if youre getting DTV for the purpose Of watching anywhere dont believe the advertising on the part of Direct TV and AT&T "the ability to stream any live or recorded shows from your DVR anywhere anytime". Its not true! Just read the other reviews!
Network assistant always crashes. Never can see all of my recorded shows therefore not allowing me to download shows. This app is bad. Expected more from a multi-billion dollar company. This is an amateur app.
I see a lot of 1 star complaints that they are in low signal area. How is that the apps fault? Is it perfect probly not but is by far the easiest app for tv Ive seen.
Customer support is at best working with their hands tied reboot and blow out your equipment is the best they can do and if you need service on the weekend forget it! I could go on but why they wont change.
Update: still the same; DIRECTV service is great; app is crap, unfortunately. Nothing good to say about it, unfortunately. App crashes, or wont load; search results are erroneous. Should I go on? Shame, since their service is so good. I feared ATTs purchase of Directv, and, so far my fears have come true. Update: if possible, the app has gotten worse! Search is unintelligent, app crashes constantly. Rarely use it, as it rarely works. Shame.
