DIRECTV App Reviews

Downloaded today since Im out of town and wanted to access programming on my phone. I have attempted over and over to get it to load and it just wont. Awful, waste of space on my phone.

I was enjoying catching up on some shows, but the app wont work now. It says I dont have any receivers set up. ???

This app doesnt work as of 3/19/2017, it used to work just fine. Locks up after accepting your valid password

I should not have to keep re downloading this app in order for it to work. Needs to be fixed. And can not get all of my channels I pay for

Ever since last update every time I try to use app I get error 1003 service temporarily unavailable. Doesnt matter whether Im on wifi or data stream. Ill stick with Netflix or Amazon. No problems with those!!!

The app wont open. I used to like this app until ATT took over. Now its worthless.

This worked fine on my iPhone 6, but since the up date it does NOTHING. All I have is a screen that says Direct TV on top but all the rest is black… and does nothing but sit there. Is there any way I can the old version… or that you can un fix it? Never had problems with it before!

Have been a DIRECTV customer from within a few months of their founding. App used to be reasonably reliable and useful. Since last "upgrade" just getting through the simplest of tasks without the app locking up and crashing is a minor miracle. Why app developers put out "upgrades" that render their working apps useless is inexplicable. At least the TV part of DIRECTV is still great. If DIRECTV is going to upgrade the app to a nonfunctional piece of crap they really should save their customers time and aggravation by not putting out any app at all. That would be a true "upgrade" to this crap and why I "upgraded" my phone by deleting this worthless waste of space. Thanks DIRECTV/AT&T.

Very clustered and hard to navigate through. Should bring you back always to your last viewed. Its way too busy and its confusing. And right now it wont load. Very disappointing

3/19/17 ***UPDATE*** App wont work at all now!!! ***UPDATE*** This app is almost worthless now!!! I updated my iPhone 6s Plus to iOS 10.2 because Apple kept sending me "NAG MESSAGES"! ? So after updating, the DirecTV app cant find my HR-54 on the "same WIFI network" AND... when trying to stream on 4g LTE (20mbps btw), I get major buffering issues and the audio stops working after about 10 or 15 minutes, so then I have to change the channel to something else and then go back to the channel I want to watch... EVERY TIME!!! I also get an error message "cant stream from this device" after I click the home button and then open the DirecTV app back up... so after clicking the play button multiple times and clearing the error message (to watch the same channel), it will finally start to load (slowly). The error message that it "cant stream from this device" is absolute nonsense and ANNOYING... because after the 3rd try, it works!? So remove that stupid error message and replace it with, "Please Wait" or something... (if it needs time to load)!? Please fix this version to adjust for iOS 10.2 operation if that is what is causing it!!!! ***OLD REVIEW*** Pre iOS 10.2*** Its getting better! I hate to admit that since AT&T took over, the app has improved significantly! No more days of when you had audio but no picture! ? I wish they would make the guide remember where you were after checking a show out!? After looking at a show and then youd move back to the guide menu, it automatically scrolls back to the top of the channel list ?, so then youd have to scroll all the way back down to where you were before EVERY TIME!! ? It is very, very annoying!!! ?

The app wont even open now. Just stays on the black screen with DIRECTV at the top.

dont bother, app only works if you enter as a guest. try to login to your directv account and you gat a black screen with ATT logo. Not certain what ATT thinks its doing but they have managed tontake what was once a useful app and turn it into useless fodder.

This iPhone app is perfect for you if you want a black screen with that ol blue ATT logo! The app claims to be initializing with a wheel of death and on occasion even claims to be logging you in. Not so fast! Still just a black screen and that infuriating logo. My world is back and blue.

The app constantly logs me out. Takes me force closing it repeatedly to get it to work. Horrible

playback is absolute trash. app crashes all the time. sometimes subtitles dont work. impossible to play on demand episodes/movies.

Im able to watch my shows on the go 7 days a week 24 hours a day. The quality of the videos is outstanding. I love this app..

I cant get on the app it is just stuck with a screen that says directv and no other options

The app used to work well but since ATT purchased the service things have gone downhill. The app no longer functions. You simply get a black screen with the Direct TV logo.
