What I Use and How it Works

I use the app mainly to set up recordings remotely, and search for programs/movies I hear about when Im not home but want to record. For the functions I use it works fine but, I do find the GUI limiting, hence the 4 stars. (Direct TV never claimed to have the most easy to use, seamless GUI so I can only say it does what it says it does-Lets you search for and record shows on the go.). Ive used it once or twice to watch a TV show on my iPad and it worked fine but I was on my home WiFi.

Suggestions if Direct TV reads this stuff. I do think the software could be improved to provide a more personalized user experience. For example, why not provide some of the features that makes TIVO so popular: The ability to set up a show to record when viewing a commercial; to make recommendations based on recording history; to have Pilot and Season Premiere searchable categories that make it easy to know whats coming in the world of watchable entertainment and easily opt in to record a pilot or season premier. Perhaps some of that functionality is proprietary to TiVo but I doubt all of is. :-)
